Trekking
Tomorrow morning I leave to go on Pioneer Trek with the youth in our neighborhood. This will be my fourth time on Trek and I am looking forward to it. Honestly I am a little nervous about my physical ability this time around. Luckily I am the official Trek Photographer and won't have to pull a handcart. I just have to schlep 20 pounds of camera gear on my back. Wish me luck and also Matt who will be home with the kids. He claims he will have everyone and the house whipped into shape. (I'm not sure how I should take that but kudos to him if he can.)

What does Claire do when she can't find any friends to hang out with? She bakes! This was today's creation. White bread made from scratch and it was delicious! Grandpa Brad would be proud. Now if she could only clean up her mess. :)

Sweet Friends
For Matt and I our time living in New York City and then in the Washington D.C. area was extremely precious to us. The reason for this is not only the incredible experiences we had there but the wonderful people that we met along the way. These are friends who remain close to your hearts forever. Anyone who has lived away from their families know what I mean when I say that these are special and sweet relationships that will never die.
A couple of months ago we had a little reunion with a bunch of our friends that we met when we lived in Arlington, VA. While there is a good group of friends that still live in VA (and other places), most of us have moved to Utah. We are spread out from Davis to Utah counties but we still manage to get together at least once a year. It is so great to see each other and I am amazed that despite our busy lives apart most of the year, just how easy it is to pick up right where we left off.

Stubborn Part II
Have I ever mentioned that Jake is stubborn? I told him he couldn't sleep in my bed and he said that he didn't want to sleep in his own bed. This is what he did instead. OOOOH that kid! I love his creativity though! This is actually his second snooze on the kitchen stools. He may be developing a propensity for sleeping in uncomfortable places. See here and here.
