Christmas Activity #1

One of our family Christmas traditions is that we find a minute to drive down Christmas Street. I have been enjoying viewing the lights here for as long as I can remember and it rarely disappoints. This year we went just as it was getting dark so some houses didn't have their lights on yet but we still got a taste. Here are some pics I took through a windshield while driving. :) It was a nice Christmas Spirit jump start for me.

Anne said...: This year we went to something called Lights in the Heights, where they block off several city blocks and people walk around (with a bottle of beer in one hand and dragging a cooler in the other), looking at lights, listening to bands, and getting drunk. I was expecting it to be pretty similar to Christmas Street, but sadly it was not. Only every third or fourth house was decorated, and rarely very good. Total let down.; December 29, 2009 at 8:33 AM

Claire to Dad, while Dad is cleaning out the wheelbarrow, which was full of stinky, stagnated water: "Dad, you know what would be great? If they made wheelbarrow freshener."
Claire, when discussing where to eat dinner: "Mom, I really want the 'F-word.'" Amanda (alarmed): "What?" Claire: "You know, 'fries.'"
Matthew: "Dad, did you know that a sprain is worse than a break? ... Unless you break your nuts."
Dad: "Kate, why don't you like jeans? Jeans are the most comfortable pants on Earth." Kate: "No, jazz pants are the most comfortable pants on Earth." Dad: "I stand corrected."
Dad, while walking kids to school their first week: "What could be better than walking kids to school on this beautiful, cool morning?" Kate: "Lagoon. Lagoon would be better." Dad: "No way. This is better." Claire: "Nope. Lagoon. Lagoon would definitely be better."
